Disabled campaigner wins landmark case

Congratulations to Doug Paulley for pursuing and winning his case asking bus companies to ‘require’ parents with buggies to make space for wheelchair users. He brought his case after he was told he could not get on a bus when a mother with a pushchair refused to move.

The ruling is limited, requiring the bus driver to use their judgement, but it is still a real success. Bus companies will now have to more than merely ask parents with buggies to move.
