Places will only be provided to members on the Action on Disability Youth Programme mailing list. To be added to the mailing list all members need to have completed a Action on Disability membership form. Membership forms are available through the office or download one from the documents section of the website.
On receipt of a membership form Action on Disability will assess the needs of members to determine the level of support required at the service. It is important to note that members with high needs may need additional support.
All places are allocated on a programme by programme basis. Members are contacted by post informing them when the booking line will be open this is normally 5 weeks prior to each scheme. Most members will then need to phone to confirm a place. It is important to note that most programmes are very popular and it is important to book early to avoid disappointment.
Booking for high needs members.
We reserve a minimum of 4 places daily for children with high support needs. The allocation of these places is by referral through the social services department. This allows us to allocate a support worker/s to meet the support needs of members attending.
- Young people over 18-19 yrs with high support needs will need to discuss support arrangements with Adult Social Services Teams.
- Members with their own support workers (e.g. Direct Payment arrangements) will need to discuss booking procedures and line management arrangements of workers with the office.
Action on Disability will reserve the right to refuse a place only on the grounds that resources do not meet Health and Safety requirements of a placement. Nb This may involve appropriate levels of support or capacity issues in the total numbers of people attending the centre.
